Cymdeithas Edward Llwyd guided walk

Llyn Barfog, Cwm Maethlon

Meeting point: SNPA car park near Tyddyn-y-Briddell farm, Cwm Maethlon.

Haf Roberts, the SNPA Cyfoeth Ein Corsydd peatland project officer will lead you on a 5 mile walk up to Llyn Barfog and to the edge of the Cors Barfog bog on the other side of the lake. We will be walking across open moorland (a firm path apart from the edge of the bog), fields and a tarmac road. It can be muddy in some parts, particularly after rainfall. There will be several opportunities to pause to enjoy the stunning views of the Dyfi estuary, and  to note the odd cairn, the history of the lake itself and especially of the bog.
