The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:
(a) non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Multiple pages
- WCAG 1.4.10 Reflow: At 400% zoom, the top of the cookie banner is partially cut off.
This specifically refers to the explanatory text available at other zoom levels
Contact
- WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast (minimum): The ‘Search by keyword’ placeholder text in the search bar does not have sufficient colour contrast.
Video
- Some of the videos embedded in the website do not have subtitles. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 AA Success Criterion 1.2.2.
(b) disproportionate burden
We acknowledge the challenges in ensuring the accessibility of PDF documents on our website, particularly for Planning and Authority meeting agendas. As a small Authority, limited resources, statutory obligations, short timescales, dynamic content, and dependency on external contributors contribute to the disproportionate burden we face in meeting accessibility standards.

- WCAG 2.1 AA Success Criterion 1.2.4 requires that captions are provided on live audio or video. This criterion is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations.
- Some PDFs published before 23 September 2018 are not accessible. PDFs that are not essential to providing our services published before this date are exempt within the scope of the accessibility regulations.
