History of Snowdonia
Human history, as well as the history of the landscape, is important here in Snowdonia, and it is a prominent part of our cultural heritage. We can learn more about aspects of our history, such as the castles, by looking at remains in the landscape, but other elements of our history, such as witchcraft, have survived through the tradition of passing oral information from one generation to the next.
Here, you can learn about several aspects of the history of Snowdonia: the Princes of Gwynedd, Castles, Translating the Bible into Welsh, Witches and Witchcraft, the slate industry and Plas Tan y Bwlch, and the drowning of the Cwm Celyn Valley.
