Sheffield University Archaeological Field Work
20 April 2018
Tomos Jones our Archaeologist has been out this week assisting students and staff from Sheffield University with their field work in the Dysynni valley.
Research teams from Sheffield University have been studying in this part of Snowdonia since 2014 and as a consequence the standard of work produced here has been very high which improves our understanding of archaeological traits in places such as Bryncrug, Llanegryn and Abertrinant.
The work includes elements of core sampling, topography and geophysical surveys, for example looking at past field patterns and sea levels and observation of structure change in local villages. This is a highly valuable contribution towards the understanding of our heritage and our climate change studies.
