Work to demolish the St David’s Hotel, Harlech about to commence

5 September 2019

The St David’s Hotel building in Harlech has stood derelict for many years now. Next week, the Snowdonia National Park Authority will commence with the demolition of the building. This follows a lengthy Planning Enforcement case which has culminated in the National Park Authority initiating direct action. The National Park Authority has received significant support from both the Welsh Government and Gwynedd Council in progressing to this point.

Preparing a transport strategy for the Snowdon area

The Snowdonia National Park Authority are working with Gwynedd Council and Conwy Council to develop a long term strategy to address the transport and parking issues around Snowdon and the surrounding areas as part of the Snowdon Partnership Plan.

Minister Lesley Griffiths to launch the Celtic Rainforests Wales LIFE project

On Thursday the 5th September Welsh Minister Lesley Griffiths will officially launch the Celtic Rainforests Wales project at Ganllwyd Village Hall near Dolgellau. Stakeholders will come together to learn about the aims of the 7-year project, funded primarily by the EU LIFE programme and the Welsh Government’s Green Infrastructure Grant.

The first ever pan-Wales workshop on tourism ambassador schemes will be held next week. The workshop is a collaboration between Snowdonia National Park Authority and the Next Tourism Generation Project and will highlight the benefits of ambassador schemes. This free event - Tourism Ambassadors for Wales: Best Practice and Lessons Learnt – will take place on June 20th at the Imperial Hotel in Llandudno. Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas AM Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism, will welcome participating businesses, trade associations and destination managers.
