Designating Snowdonia as an International Dark Sky Reserve is an opportunity for local businesses to maximize the potential of stargazing in Snowdonia. It is a great area for attracting astronomers - both novices and experienced - to enjoy our dark sky.

But, in order to take advantage of the designation, local businesses will have to attract interest by offering relevant opportunities; this could take the form of buying appropriate telescopes, interpretative material, holiday packages, events or organise training for themselves to maximize the value of this designation. The National Park Authority hopes to work with our partners in the leisure and tourism sectors to provide dedicated training and grants to assist local businesses to accomplish this.
