Focussed Changes

The Snowdonia National Park Authority submitted proposals for the short form revision of the Eryri Local Development Plan (LDP) to the Welsh Government for an Independent Examination in January, 2018. The Planning Inspectorate Wales has appointed Mr Richard Duggan BSc (Hons) DipTP MRTPI to conduct the Examination.

At the request of the Inspector, the Authority has prepared a Focussed Change document for public consultation and an accompanying representation form and guidance note.

The Focussed Change document is based on the changes that have emerged from the Authority’s recommendations following consideration of the representations received at deposit stage. These Focussed Changes were subject to a formal public consultation from 16th March 2018 until 4:30pm on the 27th April 2018. See comments recieved within the link below:

The proposed Focussed Changes document along with supporting documents and a representation form are available to view on our website, and at the National Park Office. You can also view the Focussed Changes document at public libraries in Barmouth, Bethesda, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Dolgellau, Penygroes, Tywyn, Porthmadog, Y Bala, Cerrigydrudion, Llanrwst, Llanfairfechan, Penmaenmawr, Conwy and at the Authority’s Information Centre in Betws y Coed, during normal opening times.

Comments made at this stage can only address these proposed Focussed Changes.

This is not an opportunity to add to previous representations, or to make new comments on parts of the deposit Eryri LDP not subject to change, as the Inspector will not consider any such new representations. The Authority will not make a response to the representations on the Focussed Changes. They will be forwarded to the Inspector who will take these representations into account as part of the Examination process.

Next Steps

It is expected that the Examination will be held sometime in July 2018. The Programme Officer will write to you separately to advise you of the dates of these meetings and the future timetable regarding the Eryri Local Development Plan Examination.
