Fishing at Llyn Tegid

Llyn Tegid is an excellent fishing spot, with 14 species of fish lurking in its deep waters. They are mainly coarse fish, and on weekends during the winter months many fishermen can be seen along the lake’s edges.

The main species which are fished for are perch, roach, pike, trout, grayling and eels. To find out about the best fishing spots contact the Lake Wardens (click for Contact Details).

All anglers must be in possession of a rod licence as well as a Llyn Tegid fishing permit. Rod licences can be purchased in various outlets including Bala Post Office or the Information Centre near the Warden Centre. Llyn Tegid fishing permits can be purchased from the Lake Warden Centre or the pay and display machines in the main car park on the foreshore.
